A family business since 1964, Shriver Meats is a privately owned beef producer & processor.
Raising feedlot cattle, growing field crops such as corn, barley, and hay. All of these commodities are grown here on our farm, and are all fed to our cattle raised here on the farm. We also grow wheat and soybeans as a cash crop to allow for proper field crop rotation.
Shriver Meats is a USDA inspected facility providing beef products for the home freezer, which is located in Emmitsburg, Maryland. We are open year around providing your holiday and special occasion needs. We also supply products to local restaurants and fire companies.
Shriver Meats began due to a need for a processing facility to slaughter farmers livestock. Norman learned the tricks of the processing trade from Walter Simpson.

Norman and Sandy started off in the summer house which they converted into the processing room. Eventually moving to the garage at the farm house and later building the shop area which we operate out of today.
Norman first raised the cattle on the farm for his family. After a few years, Norman continued to buy local feeder calves. After raising the feeder calves he would then sell the cattle to local friends for their freezers.
